Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need my vets permission before you come out and give my horse ET?
Yes, you will be asked to get your vets permission before hand and to sign a consent form prior to your practitioner starting any work. This ensures that you have given your permission and you have sought your vets permission.
2. What can I do with my horse after his ET session?
We recommend that you give your horse at least, 24 hours off of any work or grooming, as they can process most of the Equine Touch during this time. Some horses carry on processing for up to 5 days afterwards.
3. Do I need anything special for the ET session?
No, just yourself or a handler, with your consent forms signed and your vets permission. You'll need somewhere preferably dry and under shelter, a head collar and a lead rope. A handler should always be present.
4. How long will the ET session last?
Each session is different, it can last anywhere from 40 minutes - 1 hour.
5. What reactions can I expect to see from my horse during or after the session?
Every horse is different and each equine will take what they need at that time from ET. Some horses won't display anything, many horses will relax, lower their body, sigh, lick and chew, turn round to look, sniff, some will snort, some will sleep afterwards.
6. How many sessions will my horse need?
This all depends upon your horse and what the equines' body shows during the body balance. ET practitioners are not vets or therapists!
When an equine (or any animal) has issues these can be either emotional, physical or behavioural, they can be relaxed and the dynamics of the muscles re-balanced back to the body's original blueprint. For ET to be most effective on severe cases, follow up sessions will sometimes be advised, as it's like peeling back the layers on an onion - gettng to the root cause will ultimately be the goal.
7. Can ET be done on Cows, Rams, Sheep, Humans, Donkeys or anything else?
Yes! I am insured to work on any animal. ET works very effectively onall of the above (except cats). For dogs, there is Canine Touch. For Humans there is VHT. Please see the main Equine Touch website for Canine and Human practitioners. I am only qualified to work on Equines/Cows/Sheep/Rams etc.
